Land Breeze
Definition: Wind blowing from the land and over the ocean.
Land breezes are caused when heated air over water rises and air from land moves to replace the rising air. Although land breezes are commonly around ocean shorelines, they can also be near any large body of water, like a lake. Land breezes usually occur at night, because at night, water will have more of its heat than land surfaces.
